The Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County is hosting their 31st annual Dog-A-Thon on June 20-26, 2021.
This week-long virtual 5K event is fun for the whole family (both two-legged and four-legged).
After 30 years, this annual event has become the shelter’s largest fundraiser and continues to bring the community together to show their support for animals in need of food, shelter, medical care, and a loving forever home.
Every dollar raised goes directly towards the 10,000 animals that rely on the shelter every year. Like Daisy, a pit bull who came to the shelter in rough shape. She was in desperate need of a leg amputation due to a fractured hip that had been left untreated. Over 200 registrants from last year’s Dog-A-Thon raised enough money for her lifesaving surgery and gave her a happy life with her new family.
Every step you take is a step closer to helping an animal in need.
How can you help?

All week long, registrants will be helping to save animal lives while participating in fun activities, challenges, and even some vendor shopping through our Virtual Vendor Village. Plus, anyone who completes a 5K or other activities during the event and tags the shelter on social media will get the chance to win a Mud Bay gift card and other prizes!
